Welcome to “Five Stick Friday”… my new “digital home” for my own digital therapy. Where’d the name come from? I’m glad you asked!
Years ago, I played in a worship band with some fine musicians who decided to put together a musical project outside the church. So of course, we knew it needed a name. A very talented singer submitted “Five Stick Friday”. As it turns out, her daughter’s elementary school teacher started each student on Monday with “five sticks”. If her daughter had to be reprimanded, the teacher would take a “stick”. If she went all week without reprimand, then when she met her Mom off the schoolbus, she would proudly and triumphantly announce…”Five Stick Friday!”.
I loved the name…a week transpired without reprimand. That seems like a noble goal in the society we have in 2023. And since the band never got off the ground, the name has been sitting in mothballs for 20+ years.
Until today. Welcome to “Five Stick Friday”. As the tagline says…”On My Best Behavior…Maybe”.
